Safety Testing
Both models of Skoodle Cycle Helmets have been certified to the US standard, which is equivalent to EN1078 – the European Standard. The Carbon Fibre version is also certified to meet the cycle helmet standard in South Korea, and certifications for other territories will be obtained in the future.
How have these helmets been tested?
Skoodle Cycle Helmets are designed for use in the United States and any country where the US standard is accepted. If used outside of these territories, it will be at your own risk, and we do not accept any liability in such cases.
US Standard (equivalent to EN1078): How have these helmets been tested?
To meet the US standard, cycle helmets undergo crash tests on anvils that simulate impacts on flat surfaces and curbs. The helmets are tested on the front, back, sides, and crown. During these tests, the helmets must not allow a force exceeding 250g to reach the head. In simple terms, “g” refers to the amount of gravity the Earth exerts on you when you fall.
Helmet Replacement
If you are involved in a crash, you must replace your helmet. Please contact info@skoodlehelmets.com and we will provide a return address for your helmet so that we can assess the damage and dispose of it responsibly. In return, we will offer you a discount off any subsequent purchases.
