FAQ

Are the 2 Skoodle helmets as safe as each other?

Yes they are. Both models have good (safe/low impact) results). See safety testing for more
detail.

What’s the difference between the 2 helmets?

The Carbon Fibre Edition has a liner that doesn’t degrade over time. The Re-Cycle helmet needs replacing every 5 years (the liner and shell will be recycled). Both models must be replaced after a crash.

The Carbon Fibre Edition is handmade by craftspeople in small batches via moulds and is on average 40-50 grams lighter per size. The Re-Cycle helmet is injection moulded (made by machine). Both are manufactured in the USA.

The Re-Cycle helmet is fitted with an integrated dial fit system whereas the Carbon Fibre Edition has a pad fit system.

Can I buy Dashel Helmets if I am based outside of USA?

Yes. Please note Skoodle Cycle Helmets have been tested to CPSC standard.. Skoodle Cycle Helmets are therefore only intended for use in the US and any use outside this territory will be at your own risk and we disclaim all liability thereto. Post launch we will be adding certification for other continents.

Ventilation, Vents, Venting
The helmet has 5 vent holes – these aren’t always easy to see in photographs.
Do you make children’s helmets?

combined with a cheaper shell. The Small helmet can fit a 54-56cm head so will fit many children. EN1078 means the helmet is suitable for cycling and scooting. See Sizing/How to Measure Your Head before ordering.

Will you make extra large helmets?

Yes there is demand. If your head is larger than 61cm and you’d like a Skoodle. Send us a message via the contact page and we’ll register your interest.

Are the Skoodle helmet loops vegan/vegetarian?
The new helmets use faux leather. The carbon fibre versions use leather but will move to vegan leather as stock of leather offcuts runs out. If you’d prefer a carbon fibre helmet with a leather loop, then there is no charge for this, however the lead time will be longer. Email sales@skoodlehelmets.com for assistance.
